The film out process begins. I^3 starts to turn out the reels. Lantern Lane Entertainment sees the film and loves it. They sign on to represent the film.

Black Cat Productions goes back in to cut our trailer. Thank you Sharon.

October 2004:
We start final approval process. The postproduction team gathers for multiple screenings at the Gene Siskel Film Center. We see the final version on the big screen. It is really amazing to see it in final form. Wow!

I^3 starts the color correction on final cut. This is the coolest process I have ever seen. It’s digital painting. Great job Mike!

June 2004:
Black Cat Productions hands over final cut to Maestro-Matic. Sharon Zurek has done an amazing job editing the film. Now it’s time for Mark and Adam to roll up their sleeves on audio. Bruce begins to listen to original music scores and loves the edgy music by Mark Messing. We bring back some of the actors for ADR. Adam Frick is a genius.

We test screen a rough cut. 150 people show up for the screening. The response is overwhelmingly enthusiastic. People love the film!

February 29, 2004: Its
a wrap!
Finally able to relax after 18 days of
intensive shooting (mostly in the cold!), the cast and crew
celebrate in Chicago during the Oscar Award Ceremonies.
ABC/Channel 7 Evening News features an in-depth report on
the film, known then as southside, in their post-Oscars
report on the vitality of the Chicago Independent Filmmaking
scene.
